This group is for anyone interested in walking in company around the Gillingham, Dorset area.
We welcome everyone who wants to walk, particularly if you have never done much walking or not walked recently. We aim to provide enjoyable walks at a pace comfortable for all. It's a chance to meet new people and improve your health too.
The Group has regretfully had to cancel this walk as, for the first time in ten years, no volunteer walk leader is available to lead it.
We will shortly announce whether our Saturday walks from April onwards will be held a.m. or p.m.
The group currently organises two types of regular walks (see Calendar) :
One hour moderate walks on Mondays, starting in front of the Barn Surgery, Newbury
Two hour across country walks on the first Saturday of each month with varying start points (see below).
(The group hopes to recommence the Thursday weekly gentle half hour walks in the foreseeable future.)

The walks organised by the Balsam Centre in Wincanton may well appeal to Gillingham walkers. Have a look at their website and programme by following this link.
In addition to regular walks, we also have an active social section and most Springs we walk in Duncliffe Wood, hoping to see the bluebells.
