now part of Gillingham Walkers are Welcome

An informal group set up for those who wish to walk in the area of Gillingham, Dorset.

Fresh Air   ~   Friendship   ~   Feel The Difference

This group is for anyone interested in walking in company around the Gillingham, Dorset area.

We welcome everyone who wants to walk, particularly if you have never done much walking or not walked recently.  We aim to provide enjoyable walks at a pace comfortable for all.  It's a chance to meet new people and improve your health too.

The group currently organises two types of regular walks (see Calendar) :

One hour moderate walks on Mondays, starting in front of the Barn Surgery, Newbury

NEW LEADERS/BACK MARKERS NEEDED  If anyone would like to help in the future by leading/back marking an occasional walk, do please contact Sheila or Penny.  This doesn't need to be an onerous commitment, for example Monday leaders on average lead one walk a month and Saturday leaders two or three walks a year.

The walks organised by the Balsam Centre in Wincanton may well appeal to Gillingham walkers.  Have a look at their website and programme by following this link.

Other Activities

In addition to regular walks, we also have an active social section and most Springs we walk in Duncliffe Wood, hoping to see the bluebells.
